GlobalData's Emir Halilovic: How PON, SD-WAN have changed the enterprise market

AMSTERDAM Broadband World Forum GlobalData Principal Analyst Emir Halilovic discusses the changes in enterprise fiber connectivity that have been unlocked by SD-WAN. The argument for PON to replace point-to-point fiber is getting stronger, he said. PON's maturity, price points and operational simplicity make for a compelling use case in areas where operators have heavy competition. He also talks about some of the connectivity issues with 5G fronthaul that operators need to consider.
